A: Addelec deals with commercial and residential electrical installations all over the south east of England. It is a long-established family-run business and has been limited since 2008.
A: I was let down by another accountant and, at the time, I was working for a company who used Meades Group. We went to them in 2009 as a small company but then we grew very quickly so it was good timing because we would have needed their kind of services anyway.
A: They’re always willing to help. If I need stuff urgently, I usually get it within a day. Paul’s always available to speak to, which is key. Having one account manager is important to me too because nothing gets lost in translation – it means a smoother transition to all you need.
A: From what I’ve used of it, it’s very, very good and I’ve put other people on to it. You can find everything instantly, your books are automatically updated and you can see how you’re performing as well as your cash flow. We can see what invoices we’ve got to pay. It also keeps our carbon footprint down, which is always good, because we don’t have to print things out.
Our suppliers’ scanned invoices automatically go into our system, so that also saves me time because I don’t need to scan them myself. As soon as I get an invoice, my accounts are updated.
A: The difference is in the service. The relationship is very beneficial, for advice or just overviewing the business.
The system flags up quite quickly if something is going wrong and then we discuss better ways of doing things, like the tax.
